Temple of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona: the eternal building of an architectural marvel

There was a time when a whole people could devote their lives, their children and the children's children to lift a monument to their religion. During the Middle Ages, hundreds of cathedrals were built throughout Europe. Then, the man did everything faster, more basic and therefore less beautiful. But a genius of art had a vision that would bring back this emotional habit of building something so wonderful that even in modernity has over 100 years and is not yet completed: Temple of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
The Church of the Holy Family is a Catholic basilica in Barcelona (Spain), designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi. Initiated in 1882, still under construction (January 2013). It is the masterpiece of Gaudi, and the greatest exponent of Catalan modernist architecture. According to data from 2011, is the most visited monument in Spain, with 3.2 million visitors.
Construction began in the Gothic style, but, assuming the project Gaudí in 1883, was completely redesigned.
According to his usual procedure, general sketches from improvised building construction as it progressed. Gaudí took over the project with only 31, and he devoted the rest of his life, the last fifteen exclusively. One of their most innovative ideas was the design of the high towers protruding circular conical pointed about portals, and become narrower with height. To visit: The Sagrada Familia opens to the public between 9:00 and 18:00 in winter and between 9:00 and 20:00 in summer.
